What makes New Insights Life Coach Training Unique?

A number of things. Here are three:

  • We eat, breathe and sleep life coaching. That’s our only business, pure and simple – and we’re passionate about what we do and the support we offer.
  • Both our courses, (101 Introductory and the full Certification Programme) can be completed entirely from the comfort of your home, or wherever you like!
  • Our Certification Training Programme is like no other. It basically constitutes a full business opportunity. You get skills training, extensive practice coaching, a wonderful structured coaching system to use, great support throughout your training, help to establish your practice and access to our coaching resources once certified.

Why Home Based Training ... and is it effective?

We wouldn't be in business if it wasn't and we've been established for over 12 years in the UK (and eight in southern Africa).

Our research shows that most people who consider becoming life coaches already lead very busy lives and put great value on convenience and flexibility.

So we set out to design training that would fit in with the lifestyles of our trainees, rather than expect our trainees to fit in with our training schedules. (With New Insights you start when it suits you. And you train in your own time and at your own pace as and when it suits you, not us.)

At the same time we wanted to create a programme that, in terms of integrity, quality and substance, would stand head and shoulders above anything else on the market, and still be affordable.

We created the New Insights Life Coach Training and Certification Programme as more than just a training course. It represents an exciting and rewarding home business opportunity.

Is there a difference between your home based training and an online or e-course?

When you enrol with New Insights you get all of the course or programme material delivered to you upfront in physical format.

There are two big benefits to this:

  • You don't need to download and/or print anything. This saves you time and, specifically, money (as there's a lot of printed material).
  • You can keep all of the training material as a handy reference library throughout your training and beyond, as you own it.

Also, typical online courses don't require or provide the in-depth practical training and comprehensive assessments that our Certification Training does.

In short, our approach to training ensures that when you achieve certification you will have the confidence, knowledge, skills and experience that you will need to start coaching for reward.

Are there any meetings to attend or any travelling involved?

No, not at all.

Everything can be done from the comfort of your home or wherever you choose.

What do your courses entail, how long do they take, how do you assess them and what are the fees?

How do I know if I have it within me to become a successful life coach?

You should possess the following fundamental attributes:

  • A genuine desire to work with people to help them be the best they can be;
  • An honest ethical disposition;
  • An open mind and a willingness to learn a lot about how people (including you) tick!

If you possess these attributes then rest assured that our certification training will deliver the necessary self awareness, knowledge, skills and experience that you require to be successful.

If you're still unsure, you may wish to consider doing our Introductory course in which you'll find more in depth quizzes and self reflection exercises that will help you answer this question.

Do you offer financial support for your certification training?

We are a commercial organisation that is dependent on course fees for our ongoing existence. We are not an academic institute that benefits from state subsidies.

However, our courses are relatively very affordable and we do offer instalment payment options to make the investment easier to manage.

Do I have to complete Life Coaching 101 before I enrol for the full Certification Training Programme?

New Insights Life Coaching 101 is a good place to start if you are unsure about whether life coaching is for you and you want to become more familiar with the concept of life coaching, what it is like to be a life coach and what it takes to be successful, before signing up for certification training.

However, if you know you're cut out to be a life coach and want to get straight into training, you can sign up for the full Certification Training Programme straight away.

What level of support do you offer to your trainees?

In order to ensure that your home training experience is everything it should be we put a lot of effort into support.

The New Insights team offers personal support to all its trainees. We are readily accessible through email or by phone. You can contact the New Insights team any time you want as often as you want with as many questions as you want.

In addition you’ll have access to our online facilities:

  • The Forum is a goldmine of useful information, advice and support that you can tap into at any time, day or night.
  • Journal@New Insights is a state-of-the art online journalling and social networking platform for trainees and coaches.
  • Life Coaching Insights is our inspiring blog, on which a new thought provoking article is posted every week.

Bottom line - we want you to succeed because Your Success is Our Success!

Does New Insights carry any accreditation for its training programme?

Yes. The New Insights Life Coach Training and Certification Programme is accredited by the international CPD Standards Office.

There are many different 'accreditations' on offer from different institutions, some of which can be gained through simple subscription.

In New Insights' case we felt it important to pursue an accreditation that would give our trainees an assurance of the high quality of our training and that it does what we say it does, in other words create confident, capable life coaches who produce results for their clients.

CPD Standards Office accreditation is not easy to achieve. The organisation requires open and transparent access to all the course materials, competencies taught, assessment methods and means of support, all of which is subjected to thorough scrutiny.

CPD Standards Office accreditation has to be renewed annually and we are committed to do so.

Will your training equip me to coach internationally?

New Insights UK has a sister company in South Africa, New Insights Africa.

Between the two companies we have trained many hundreds of coaches all over the world from Canada to New Zealand

The New Insights Life Coaching System™ embraces principles, tools and techniques that are universally applicable and effective no matter where you choose to coach in the world.

Will your training enable me to register as a coach with a professional body

There is no statutory regulatory authority governing life coaching in the UK  (or most other countries for that matter) at present, so you are not compelled to register with any specific body before you can coach.

However, we would recommend you consider joining an organisation such as for example the Association for Coaching as this will assist you with ongoing professional development as a coach.

All coaching bodies like the AC, ICF, EMCC and others have their own requirements for registration and for gaining their different levels of accreditation – and these change from time to time – so you may wish to check requirements with them.

Do you have any genuine testimonials from your trainees and certified coaches?

We are proud to have many hundreds of testimonials from satisfied 'customers'.

Please find a small selection of Testimonials on our website.

You are also welcome to take a look at our Customer 'Satisfaction Ratings'.

Finally please take a look at our international Facebook page where we communicate the achievements and comments of many of our trainees and coaches.

Why do you place a cap on the time allowed to complete your training courses?

Because this lends credibility and integrity to the certification process.

Open ended courses may seem attractive on the face of it but there are two serious disadvantages:

  • There are no disincentives for dragging your heels or procrastinating;
  • There is no assurance that certified coaches are competent to apply what they have learnt and practised, if too much time is allowed to elapse during the process of getting certified.

Do you offer support to help me establish a coaching pactice while in training with you?

Yes, indeed!

The New Insights Life Coach Training and Certification Programme is unique in that it includes four business support elements which are designed to help you do exactly that:

  • Planning your Practice will help you put together a business plan for your coaching practice and establish your break-even point (number of clients you need to make it viable)
  • The Kaizen Marketing System™ which is licensed to New Insights, is specially designed to help small business owners market themselves. It is perfect for life coaches who are setting out.
  • Selling your Services will introduce you to the psychology and practice of selling your life coaching services so that you'll be two steps ahead of the rest in building a thriving practice.
  • Succeeding in Your Business will provide you with a treasure trove of hints, tips, tools and practical suggestions to promote and grow your practice

Do you offer any ongoing support after I qualify as a life coach?

We're proud of the people we train and we like to keep in contact with our coaches for as long as they wish to remain in contact with us.

A number of great resources become available to you upon achieving certification:

  • Certified coach identifiers to use in your email signatures and on your website, marketing material and stationery.
  • A client certificate template that you can use to create personalised certificates for those who you coach through the New Insights system.
  • Journal@New Insights coach level membership (subscription based) will open up all sorts of possibilities for you, from tapping into the extensive database of client members for coaching leads, to setting up your own e-courses and managing your coaching clients.
  • Ongoing access to the most up to date coaching system notes.
  • We have trusted partners that can be hired to design and build you a logo, business cards, Facebook page, website and anything else you need to promote your services.

Will I be ‘tied in’ to New Insights after I become certified?

You will set up a fully independent practice of your own with no liabilities or obligations to New Insights other than to respect the copyright on our material and to coach in accordance with our Code of Ethics.

You don't have to use the New Insights Life Coaching System™ if you don't want to (although we highly recommend it).

You can even adapt our coaching system by adding your own material as you become more experienced. The only requirement we have is that you respect the copyright on our coaching system and notes and that you clearly indicate, to your clients, when and where you deviate from it.

Will the New Insights Life Coaching System™ really offer me an advantage?

Most life coach training institutions will impart a simple 'Model' which defines the parameters within which you will conduct your coaching.

Models may be helpful in providing a framework but they don't offer the kind of tried and tested structure and professionalism that our system does.

The New Insights system has a dual purpose:

  • Firstly, it gives you a powerful selling tool. In your complimentary session you will outline to your client exactly what they have to look forward to during the (roughly six month) coaching journey.
  • Secondly it gives you the necessary professional structure, along with all the pre-printed coaching notes to use during your sessions, without being overly prescriptive.

Can I be sure of getting clients when I start practising as a life coach?

In our experience, our trainees don’t normally need any assistance finding clients when they become certified because they are brimming with confidence and have a pipeline of referrals thanks to the extensive practice coaching we require them to do.

In fact, New Insights is the ONLY professional Life Coach Training Company that believes in our training so much, that we offer a guarantee that you will get enough clients to cover the investment in training many times over.

It’s very straightforward:

Simply complete your training and fulfill all the requirements for New Insights certification, following all the guidelines we provide. Ask us for - and act on - any help or advice you may need along the way. Follow and apply our coaching and business support systems… and you will get at least ten coaching clients within twelve months of completing our course.

If not, then we will assign you a coach, at our expense, to make that happen.

What can I earn as a life coach?

That really depends on you and what you want to get out of it.

Some coaches prefer to work part-time to supplement their existing income. They choose to coach just a couple of people a week and make an extra few hundred Pounds a month.

Other coaches see this as a full time opportunity and really put everything into their coaching business with the result that they earn £50 to £100,000 Pounds a year or more.

Coaching fees vary depending on the coach’s experience and their chosen target market. Most Life Coaches charge between £35 and £150 per session. A “full” coaching practice will include 20-35 clients per week. So assuming you charge £75 a session (coaching private individuals) and maintain 20 clients a week, you’ll gross around £6,000 a month.

Don't forget that you can add a lot more to your bottom line by taking up Skype coaching (this gives you access to international clients), motivational speaking engagements, corporate coaching workshops and so on and so on.

To be honest, it’s up to you to make it happen, but we think you can see that the sky is as high as you want it to be.

Will I be at a disadvantage if I don't live in one of the big cities?

No, not necessarily.

Nowadays, with technologies like Skype (basically the ability to make telephone calls over the internet) the idea of coaching by 'phone has taken off because it is so convenient and inexpensive between two people who have this technology.

And don't think for one moment that telephone or Skype coaching can't be as effective as face-to-face coaching. Many clients who have been coached by telephone actually love the fact that they can be coached from home without any embarrassment about their looks, body language or handwriting!

Another thing worth thinking about is that communities tend to be stronger and more active in the smaller towns and you can use this to your advantage to market group coaching sessions for example.
